Ridley Villas is a women’s residential recovery service in Newcastle upon Tyne, run by the charity Changing Lives (registered with CQC as The Cyrenians Ltd). It offers self-contained flats for women aged 18 and over who are in recovery from drug or alcohol use, and their young children. It is abstinence-based, so women must already be abstinent on arrival; there is no detox. Support includes one-to-one key work and a 20-week programme including ‘Helping Women Recover’. Places have been commissioned by Newcastle and Gateshead councils. Self and professional referrals are accepted.
